Sick of paying for inconsistent internet? Northern Beaches Broadband transmits a high-speed internet connection over the air using point-to-point and point-to-multipoint technology rather than copper cables in the ground, so no fixed line is required.
To do this, we need a clear line of sight from our transmitter, in the heart of Newport, to the roof at your premises.
Wireless radio waves don't like big trees, hills or buildings, so we need to determine a clear line of sight to have confidence in the quality of the connection. See more in our FAQ.
What Is Fixed Wireless?
Fixed wireless technology delivers a high-speed internet connection through the air bypassing the National Broadband Network (nbn™) and other fibre services using point-to-point and point-to-multipoint technology.
Fixed wireless can be delivered over multiple frequencies. As a rule of thumb, the higher the frequency, the faster the speeds, but the shorter the distance that signal can travel.
Inside the premises, the small dish on the roof connects to an installed data point using a CAT-6 ethernet cable with a PoE (Power over Ethernet) injector providing power and signal for your router. The router is responsible for distributing the connection throughout your home or business using Wi-Fi or a direct cable connection.

Line of Sight Test.
We’ll come over and conduct a FREE ‘Line of Sight Test’ to check your availability and to check that your property is eligible to receive a fixed wireless connection. Keep in mind, that trees, buildings and hills can affect the signal.
Installation.
We send a local, fully licensed electrician over to install a small receiver on your roof and bring a cable inside to a suitable point and connect a Wifi enabled router, (you can provide your own if your have a suitable one on hand).
Installation Quote.
We cater for all home setups, no matter how complex. We pride ourselves on finding solutions for every home and business so that Wifi issues are a thing of the past. Installation average around $299, but we will come and access your premises and discuss the best installation plan to suit your needs.
